Privacy Policy

Who we are
VineWynd is an Australian winery discovery and trip-planning platform, operated from Melbourne, Victoria ("VineWynd", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It applies to this website and to the information you provide us through it.
What we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. When you submit your winery through our listing form, we collect your name, email address, winery name, wine region, website address, any description you provide, and any photo you upload. When you contact us directly, we collect the information contained in your correspondence.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information about visits, such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages accessed, for the purpose of operating and securing the site. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not run third-party analytics on this website.
How we use your information
We use waitlist email addresses to tell you about VineWynd's launch and beta access, which is the purpose you gave them to us for. We use winery submissions to assess, create, and maintain winery listings on the VineWynd platform and to contact you about your listing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
Every email we send includes a way to opt out, and we honour opt-outs promptly, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Where your information is stored
Form submissions are received and stored by our website hosting provider, Netlify, whose servers are located in the United States. Fonts on this site are served by Google, which may process technical request data on servers outside Australia. As we build the VineWynd platform, listing information will also be stored in our database, hosted by Supabase. By providing your information, you acknowledge that it may be stored and processed outside Australia by these service providers, each of which is subject to its own privacy and security practices.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, including transmitting all site traffic over encrypted connections and restricting access to submissions to the VineWynd founders. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we treat the information you give us with care and collect no more than we need.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will not charge you for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as VineWynd grows, for example when the app launches. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date above showing when it was last revised.
